Supporting others.

Good morning,

I hope you all are having a nice Wednesday morning.   Last night was very busy.  We continued the decluttering process in our house.  I’ve almost completed reading the book of  The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up which is helping me to get rid of stuff.  Yesterday I focused on the kitchen and our coat closet.   My wife is really great at getting rid of stuff, me, on the other hand, I’ve always been a type of person to just move it around to another spot in the house.  I’m no longer going to be like that.  I’m going to get rid of stuff.  Stuff is a waste of space.  If it doesn’t bring me joy it will either be thrown away or donated.    I’m going to continue tackling places in the house that are cluttered and will create space.  Not only will I create space in the house I will get organized more. This was a challenge that I said I would start in December, which turned out to be more of a lifestyle adjustment for me.  I feel like it’s finally time and I’m looking forward to what it will bring.

This morning I’ve thought about how people all around us need love and support but is the love and support we give them right for them?   How do we know what they need?  As one wise person told me, You just have to ask.  I’ve always thought of myself as a loving and supportive person, but maybe I’ve been good at listening to what people have to say, but maybe I’ve never been good at asking exactly what they need.   Fortunately and unfortunately life is full of obstacles and challenges.  Life is full of stress and every day is another opportunity to work through many challenges and stress this so-called life brings us.  I would not want it any other way, learning and working hard to be a better person for others and myself. If I don’t know how to be there for someone I want to learn and do it the right way.  Every person is a unique individual and has different needs.  In 2018 I’m going to be more versatile to support people with different needs and I’m going to be more aware of the difference of support that is needed, whether it’s being there for family, friend or client.  I won’t be the type of person that makes the decision on what the love and support looks like without asking?    Today think about how you support your friends and loved ones.  Can you be better at being there for them?  I can and I will!
