Happy 2018 to everyone! The sun is shining the sky is blue here in Chicago. Yes its cold outside, but that is a given. I feel that 2018 will be great because I am going to make it great. Yesterday my wife, kids and I had a great day being together. We went to a new gym that we are going to join. It truly was a great experience. My wife and I got to work out and our kids got to play in the kids club. Then we all went swimming together in the indoor pool. It almost felt like we were out of town on vacation. In 2018 we are going to be more active as a family. We got home around 4 pm and started preparing for our New Years celebration. We had a friend coming over with her kids. It’s was going to be a nice quiet relaxing New Years. Far different from the day of night clubs and drinking and dancing till 2am. I would really not trade it for anything at the current stage I am in my life. For dinner were having Sushi and Asian style appetizers with Japanesse Whiskey.
It was really nice. For the kids they made their own pizzas and for dessert we had a create your own ice cream sundae. I decided I was going to have a couple drinks last night. I have been easing back into alcohol over the past two weeks. This weekend was the first time I’ve had hard alcohol. In the past couple of weeks I’ve been only drinking wine. Last night I had three japeness whiskey cocktails and I felt them. Around 9 pm we all sat down on the couch and watched a movie at the same time I started feeling very tired. The next thing I knew it was 10:40 and I just passed out for over an one and half. I woke up to the movie ended and now were were going to start watching the New Years festivities around the country and chicago. Around 11:15 we tucked in my son and our daughters decided that she was going to sleep in our bed. I guess both my wife and I decided to just let her. The three of us watch the celebration across chicago. People were being interviewed all over about their New Years resolutions. I started to think about my own New Years resolutions. For the first time I don’t have a New Years resolution. I have been working on my own resolutions for the past two months. For me I’m just going to continue on my own journey. I believe I’ve been doing a lot of great things to improve and grow. I’ve also made mistakes along my journey, but I learn from them and move forward. I know 2018 brings a lot of opportunity for not only myself but people out there. I started this journey to find more purpose in my life and make some changes as adult. I hope 2018 will bring lots of happiness, growth and purpose to you. Don’t think of it as a New Years resolution but a new life resolution. We only have one life, live it fully and do it with everything you got. Today is the day, 2018 is the year.
