Three Little Birds

Good morning,
I hope everyone is having a great Thursday morning and getting ready for some nice time off.   If you are celebrating Christmas or just being together with family this is a great time to share moments of love, happiness, and togetherness.  I love this time of year because work starts to get a little slower and gives me time to reflect on what is really important.    During your time off in the next couple days take some time to reflect.   Reflect with purpose as this time is filled with happiness.  Sometimes being together with family can create drama.  Don’t let it get in your way of the special time you have together.   Life is short, don’t sweat the small stuff.  Focus only on the good!

Yesterday was really a special day as my wife and I got to experience the holiday performance at my kid’s school.   I took some time to think about the song that they sang.   It had a clear message for us as adults coming from 5-6-year-olds.  As adults and parents we always worry, our kids were telling us not to worry.   Their innocence and voice made me really hear the words and the wisdom behind the song.  I really need to hear it.    The song was by Bob Marley’s, Three Little Birds.   If you have not heard this song before the lyrics are below:

Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be all right.
Singin’: “Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be all right!”

Rise up this mornin’,
Smiled with the risin’ sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin’ sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin’, (“This is my message to you-ou-ou:”)

Today if you are struggling with something, listen to this song and take some time and remember everything is going to be alright.   The universe always has a way to work things out for you.    Yesterday I’ve regained my full balance by being present, practicing my meditation, experiencing outstanding moments that will create memories and I read a book.   My journey is now full of new habits that are making me grow in the right direction.  It’s never too late to start a Journey.
