I Feel Refreshed!

Good morning,
Today I woke up feeling a lot more balanced.   Yesterday was a very busy day.  I got out of work late and was almost late to pick up my kids.  I made it to the school with two minutes to spare.   Traffic the past two days has been tremendous in the city of Chicago.  Once I picked up the kids we headed home.  We quickly made dinner and got the kids fed.   After that, we lit the Hanukkah candles and exchanged gifts.    Last night was a teaching moment for the kids.  Earlier in the week, I wrote about gifts aren’t always meant to be opened.   Yesterday we gifted the kids an experience that they will hopefully remember forever.  We are taking the kids on a trip to Wisconsin to go skiing.  It’s something that they will look forward to for the next couple of weeks.  It was nice to see how excited they got.   They actually don’t know how much fun it will be until they experience.   During this season of giving try to be present with what your giving make it something that can create a moment/memory that can be cherished.   The way I want to give gifts from now on will be gifts that will be memory and moment makers.   We as human get really excited about presents but the lackluster quickly wears off.  Memories stay with us for.  Think about it?  Whats more important to you and others you love.

After we did the gifting part of the night we got the kids to bed.  They were in bed by 7:30 and then I got to take some time for myself.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to go to the gym, but I got to meditate and read. These two activities really brought a calmness to my being.   I felt my self-unwinding and being able to get ready for a calm night at home to refresh.  I was feeling like today was going to be a great day with a lot of balance.   So far my day is exactly what I’m making it, filled with a lot of positive energy and calmness.  Nothing today will get in my way.  I will continue my journey today and this weekend.  I will take time for myself so I can be there for others.  I will make others feel great.  Today and this weekend make someones else a priority.  It will make you feel fulfilled.
