I’m wishing all of you a good morning as I sit at the counter of a Starbucks Reserve at 6 am.
My new found energy last night had me wake up at 5:30 to go to the gym. In hope to get a quick work out in to start my weekend of to a good start. Unfortunately the gym didn’t open till 7am. I decided to get my day started in a different way with some words to create positivity. To create my positivity armour!
When I was driving a song came on the radio by Pink her song Try. I noticed this week I’ve been listening more to words and to their meaning as they relate to me.
Her lyrics in the song really meant something to me this morning. I want to share them with you.
” Where there is desire, there is gonna be a flame.Where there is a flame, someone’s bound to get burned. But just because it burns, doesn’t mean you’re gonna die.You gotta get up and try, and try, and try Gotta get up and try, and try, and tryYou gotta get up and try, and try, and try”
So my question to you is are you gonna get up and try and keep on trying?
In wake of the Las Vegas massacre this week,Thank God this week is over. As most of know I am Jewish. I really needed to connect to my faith and spirituality yesterday to put an end to the feeling that I believe has become a sadness in all of us.
My disconnect from devices that constantly feed noise could not come in a better time. My first Shabbat that I’m going to actually be present at with my family happened. Last night I made the unplug at 6pm. I’m noticing I want to be unplugged or disconnect from devices earlier and earlier each day.
Earlier in the day I stopped by whole foods and bought a challah and grape juice for the kids. Usually wine is a major component but I decided just to drink the juice. These are the two of three key things need to start the weekly celebration of Shabbat aside from love and family.
Shabbat to me is bringings calm and peace to my family and me. Taking a day of rest to remember and find joy.
The first thing we did was light the candles which is a major component. What is the significance of the candles? One is required to light candles in the house for the sake of shalom bayit (harmony in the home) and oneg Shabbat (Sabbath joy)
Can’t we all use a little more peace and joy at home no matter what religion we practice? Or just for our being?
My new finding of living through positivity will help me focus on the good in this world.
The good in the world that I’m talking about is the stories that came out of Vegas, that showed the country and world that people are good. Numerous people risked their lives to help others. Not only to help others with wounds but also help others be there in moments of fear and death. I talk about inspired humanity as a new found being for myself and hopefully others. People that came out of Vegas and showed how us how to be selfless, how to be brave, how to show love. Even though the tradegdy and fear of it has such a negative impact on society I want people to see with out darkness you can not see stars.
Today, let’s focus on the heroes in our lives that show us their courage, bravery, heart and love for humanity.
